Google Nexus – Google’s First Cell Phone
March 22, 2010 – 10:53 pmThe Google Nexus One is Google’s first foray into the production of their own smart phone and one of the latest mobile phones on the market. The unit has a super slim body, and with its curved edges gives it that sleek look. The overall design makes it a comfortable mobile phone device to hold or carry. On the front panel are the four basic buttons; back, menu, home and the search button. Underneath these buttons is a trackball, but most users use the touchscreen functions.
The Snapdragon processor powers the phone. It has 512MB of internal memory, and has the MicroSD slot that can expand to 32GB. It comes with a preloaded 4GB card. The 3.7-inch touchscreen uses AMOLED and has 480×800 screen resolution. It does contain a five-megapixel camera that is extremely fast and has a built in flash. The Google Nexus also pinpoint the location of your photos by utilizing the on board AGPS. It is Wi-Fi capable and operates with Edge. This 3G phone will work with HSPA bands 900/1700/2100. It comes with Bluetooth stereo A2DP and has the FM radio and MP3 player.
The battery life of the device will give you up to about 10 hours of talk time and over 280 hours of standby time. It is Bluetooth enhanced and utilizes the 2.1 version. Since this is a Google developed phone, it of course utilizes Gmail and Google search. Some of the preloaded software includes Google maps. The phone is designed to be easy to use with all of your social networks and you can sync your various messaging directly to the phone. For additional applications, you can download directly from the android application store. Some of these will not cost you a dime. The Google Nexus One is available to purchase outright on a variety of Internet sites. You can also check with your local provider to see if they carry this model of cell phone and if you get one, protect it with some mobile phone insurance.
