LG32LE5300 IPS Panel 32 ” HDTV
May 1, 2011 – 7:54 pmThe LG 32LE5300 is an HDTV that was released onto the market roughly a year ago (Q1 2010) and since then has taken off as one of the most popular HDTV displays available. A combination of features, image quality, and excellent value for money have kept this TV rock solid in bestseller lists nationwide.
The 32LE5300 uses an IPS LCD panel. This stand for “In-Plane Switching technology” and differs from the standard TN panel (Twisted Nematic) in that it allows for much better reproduction within a much wider viewing angle. In contrast, TN panel TV’s often cause loss of quality of viewing from the side or below/above due the the narrow viewing angle. The 32LE5300 packs full native 1080p resoltion for full HD viewing, a 120Hz screen refresh rate ( as found on 3D tv’s ) , a 2.4ms response time, and LED backlighting.
The 42LE5300, the 32LE5300′s larger big brother, managed to snatch the European Imaging and Sound Associations award for best value LCD 2010-2011. The association cited “Good movement compensation” , “Excellent colour reproduction”, and a “Fun + easy-to-use menu” as a few of the features that stood out for them. The combination of above features, especially the combination of the 120Hz refresh rate and 2.4 ms response rate, allow the 32LE5300 to produce intensely vivid hyper realistic motion whereby images appear to jump right out the screen and into your trousers.
Critics score generally point towards the 32LE5300‘s ultimate success , with scores of 8 or 9 the norm, and a production backlog that is sure to keep LG busy for months to come. In such a highly saturated market is a breathe of fresh air to find a product with such solid performance, minus the rather weighty price tag associated with most TV’s of it’s calibre. The LG32LE5300 is also availble in 37 inch and 42 inch variations ( the LG42LE5300 and LG37LE5300 respectively). Long live HD!
